10 Celebrities

Out of the 10 celebrities I choose, 4 are associated with TV shows and acting- Jimmy Fallon, Ellen DeGeneres, Kerry Washington, and Melissa McCarthy. 4 are musicians- DJ Khaled, Adele, Ben Rector, and Lady Gaga. One is a well known Victoria Secret model- Candice Swanepoel. One is a politician and was our 44th president- Barack Obama.

Jimmy Fallon is talk show host for the Tonight Show. He uses his twitter account to help promote his show by tweeting to inform his followers about who and what will be on his show each night. He also uses his sense of humor to tweet funny stuff to have his followers evoke some sort of pathos.

Ellen DeGeneres is also a talk show host for her own show, The Ellen Show. Ellen uses her twitter to promote her show by informing her followers who is guest starring each week. Ellen is a comedian so she always interacting on twitter by using visual modes through a medium of digital. She loves tweeting funny pictures, motivational tweets, and funny clips from her show.

Kerry Washington is a well known actor for the tv show Scandal. She uses twitter to interact with her followers and respond to their tweets occasionally. She also promotes her show and encourages people to watch every new episode that airs each week. She uses visual and digital previews of the new episodes airing to draw in her followers.

Melissa McCarthy is a comedian and actor in many movies. She has not really used twitter in awhile to promote her brand because she is more involved on Instagram and has those posts tweeted onto her page as links. It seems like she used twitter last year a lot more than she does now.

All of the musicians I chose are very useful on twitter with promoting their music to their followers and interacting with their followers very well. DJ Khaled falls under the genre of rap and uses his twitter to tweet his motivational words and while also having his Instagram posts linked to twitter so that his followers and click on the links to see his posts. Adele, Lady Gaga, and Ben Rector all fall under the genre of pop music. Each artist has their own style as a pop artist but interact with their followers very well. They promote their own music and encourage their followers to share and listen to their songs. They uses the modes of visual and audio all on their twitter. Many of songs are meaningful and evoke lots pathos to their followers.

Candice Swanepoel is a model for Victoria Secret. She used to use her twitter to promote her modeling pictures and Victoria Secret but now mainly she uses her Instagram account and links it to twitter so that her posts share on her twitter feed as links. Her followers are then able to click on the links to see the posts she shares on Instagram.

Barack Obama was our 44th president of the United States. He uses his twitter to encourage and inspire the young people in America. A lot of logos is used throughout his twitter with him providing information to the american people. Pathos is also evoked through his followers because some people have different opinions and feelings on some of his posts. He uses visual and writing modes but digital medium to reach his followers.
