Twitter Account Researching on Athletes and Social Media

The twitter account I chose to follow who is studying/researching the topic of social media shaping athletes behavior and personal brands is Casey Miller (@4caseymiller). She is a business development and marketing manager for Positive Coach US and also a movement builder. I found an article that she wrote that interested me in writing more on the topic of athletes and social media influence. She states that social media is a very powerful tool for athletes if used the right way. It is a very effective form of communication but if not used in a respectful way it can damage an athletes persona. Its important for athletes to be aware of what they say on there social media because they have many fans that look up to them. Casey Miller uses her Twitter to encourage young to adult athletes to watch how they use social media and to always remember how that whatever they post online never completely goes away. Im very interested in writing about how the athletes use twitter to promote their personal brands and how it influences their behaviors. Not all athletes use social media in a respectful way and then end up having to face the consequences. Reading her articles and reviews of social media influence on athletes would be a good start in trying to get my research started. While researching others because @4caseymiller is not the only twitter account that is researching on athletes and social media. There are some others that I have also been reading up on to include in my research which are Joe Caporoso (@JCaporoso) and Fieldhouse Media (@fieldhousemedia). Both of these accounts also share good articles and post interacting tweets about athletes use on social media whether good or bad.
